NAUTIC FIBER

NAUTIC FIBER is a two-component polyester adhesive, to be applied with a putty knife, for professional use. Thanks to its extremely high mechanical strength (ca. 25 MPa) it most of all serves for reinforcing heavy loaded adhesive joints, replacing the time-consuming lamination with the use of glass wool and resin. It is used for joining, fixing and filling the structural elements made with the polyester or epoxy laminate, rigid polyurethane foam and other materials. In addition, the product is characterized with easy application and high mechanical strength that guarantees a durable combination of the elements glued.

The product has a hardening index. Its advantage is also a very low shrinkage during hardening - below 1%.
NAUTIC FIBER appears in two versions: Nautic Fiber 15, Nautic Fiber 30, mainly differing by the gelling time (15 and 30 minutes, respectively) and the mechanical properties.

SAFETY DATA SHEET
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

The surfaces used:

  • polyester laminates,
  • epoxy laminates,
  • plywood,
  • wood,
  • rigid polyurethane foams and PVC.

Caution: Do not apply the adhesive directly on the single-component acrylic and cellulose nitrate products.

Preparation of the surface:

  • the polyester and epoxy laminates should be degreased, dry sanded P80 – P120 and degreased again with a Silicone Remover,
  • dry sand plywood, wood P80 – P120 and then clean of the dust.

Mixing proportions:
NAUTIC FIBER – 100 parts by weight,
The hardener – 1 to 2 parts by weight.

Supplementary products:
The hardener – methyl, ethyl, ketone peroxide (e.g. METOX 50).

Potlife from the moment of mixing with the hardener:
NAUTIC FIBER 15: from 10 to 20 minutes in the temperature 20°C with 2% of the hardener.
NAUTIC FIBER 30: from 30 to 40 minutes in the temperature 20°C with 2% of the hardener.

Hardening time:
NAUTIC FIBER 15: from 1.5 to 2 hours in the temperature 20°C with 2% of the hardener.
NAUTIC FIBER 30: from 2 to 3 hours in the temperature 20°C with 2% of the hardener.

Principles of operation:
Mix the components thoroughly observing the hardener quantities required. Apply a coat not exceeding the thickness of 10mm using a putty knife. The minimum application temperature is +10°C.
