The drying retarder is a special additive for water varnishes. It prolongs the drying period of water-based varnishes if the ambient temperature is higher and/or air humidity is low. Using the retarder reduces the risk of the varnish drying too quickly, which may lead to such faults as “orange skin” or roller marks.
Use:
- Supramal 1K topcoat water varnish, matt and semi-gloss.
- Supramal 2K topcoat water varnish, matt and semi-gloss.
Application conditions:
Room temperature > 22° C
and/or
relative air humidity < 50%.
Procedure:
Add 4 % max. of drying retarder (up to 200 cm3 for a 5L can) and mix thoroughly. For 2K varnishes, add drying retarder after adding the hardener.
