The colouring oil-wax Suprawax Colour Look is a one-component product for impregnation and coating purposes, based on natural vegetable oils and waxes. It is used for the protective coating of wooden floors in building interiors. The product provides excellent penetration and wood impregnation ability, while simultaneously retaining colour for a long time.
Use:
The product is intended for intensifying or changing wood colour when coating wooden floors with oil. With an appropriate application technique, it can serve as prime coat for SUPRAMAL 220 varnish and can be applied on floors with low and medium intensity of use. It can be applied to parquets, floorboards, mosaic floor, industrial floor, parquet made of solid wood, including floors made of exotic wood.
Surface preparation:
The surface should be sanded with a drum sander using sandpaper with grain-size 36-100. Fill slots and cracks with a filler. Next, sand the surface with a drum sander using 100-grain-size sandpaper and with a disk grinder with 120-graded mesh. The substrate intended for oil coating must be dry, free from dust and other contaminants. Do not wipe with damp cloth prior to oil coating.
Application conditions:
Room, floor and varnish temperature should range between 17° and 25°C.
Relative air humidity: 50-70%.
Procedure:
Prior to oil application, wait for the product to reach room temperature, then shake vigorously to mix the contents thoroughly.
- Oil system
Apply the oil-wax with a stainless steel trowel, oil brush or mop. Distribute the product evenly; avoid local accumulation of the product. Apply 1 or 2 layers of oil-wax, depending on the desired colour intensity. After applying the layer, wait for 15 minutes and polish the surface with a disk grinder using a white polishing pad. The time interval between the application of the next surface coating should be above 6 hours. The surface coating should be made using the hard and transparent product SUPRAWAX FINE LOOK.
The floor can be used after 24 hours from the completion of the works. The surface may be covered (with a carpet, for instance) after one week.
- Oil and varnish system
When using the product as a prime coat for the varnish SUPRAMAL 220, apply with a disk grinder using a beige polishing pad. Start applying the varnish after a minimum of 12 hours. The time interval depends mainly on the type of wood coated. In the case of certain wood types, such as irokko, lapacho, wenge, etc., the time interval may even be extend to 24 hours. |
