NAUTIC FILL 4 is polymer composite for professional use. The product has good adhesion to polyester and epoxy laminate. It can be used for filling difficult accessible spaces during building yachts. Two types of hardeners may be used for hardening this product: BPO - benzoyl peroxide or MEKP - methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, however it is very important to pay attention to the difference in potlife due to the kind of hardener used.
Substrates:
- polyester laminates.
- epoxy laminates,
- plywood,
- wood,
Notice: Do not apply directly on 1 component acrylic and NC products.
Substrates preparation:
- polyester and epoxy laminates: degrease, sand dry P80 - P120 and degrease again using silicone remover (e.g. PLUS 780),
- plywood and wood: sand dry P80 - P120 and remove dust
Mixing ratio:
NAUTIC FILL 4 - 100 ppw.
Hardener - 1 to 2 ppw.
Complementary articles:
Hardener - benzoyl peroxide BPO (e.g. BETOX 50).
Hardener - methyl ethyl ketone peroxide MEKP (e.g. METOX 50).
Potlife:
NAUTIC FILL 4 (BPO): 4÷7 min, 20°C, with 2% hardener
NAUTIC FILL 4 (MEKP): 10÷20 min, 20°C, with 2% hardener
Time of hardening:
NAUTIC FILL 4 (BPO): 2 ÷ 3 h, 20°C with 2% hardener.
NAUTIC FILL 4 (MEKP): 4 ÷ 6 h, 20°C with 2% hardener
Procedure:
Mix well. Keep required quantities of hardener. Apply with a putty-knife a layer that does not exceed 10 mm. Should not be applied at a temperature below +10°C.
